L’Empreinte is proud to announce that its Laval facility has obtained the BRCGS Global Standard Packaging Materials certification for its packaging printing operations. This internationally recognized achievement marks an important milestone and formally validates a level of rigour that has long been embedded in the way we work.
This certification also reflects a well-established approach within the Labelink group. The Anjou and Appleton (Virginia) facilities have been certified BRCGS Global Standard Packaging Materials for some time. Together, these sites operate under the same high standards of quality, safety, and traceability.
Beyond the announcement, we believe it is important to explain what BRCGS certification truly represents and, more importantly, the tangible benefits it brings to the brands we support.
BRCGS: What Does it Really Mean?
BRCGS (Brand Reputation through Compliance Global Standards) is an internationally recognized certification that governs product safety, quality, and traceability. Originally developed for the food industry, it has become a key benchmark for packaging in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic sectors.
In these industries, packaging goes far beyond appearance. It protects the product, conveys critical information, and builds consumer trust while meeting stringent regulatory requirements. BRCGS Global Standard Packaging Materials therefore focuses on controlling processes, not just outcomes, to ensure consistent, reliable, and compliant results.
What This Means for Printing and Packaging Production
Being certified BRCGS Global Standard Packaging Materials means operating under strict, clearly documented procedures at every stage of production. This includes enhanced hygiene protocols, mandatory personal protective equipment, and meticulous attention to detail on the production floor. Nothing is left to chance.
These standards significantly reduce the risk of contamination from foreign objects or unwanted particles, ensuring a safer production environment. For clients, this translates into consistent quality, regardless of production volume or product type.
Traceability and Recalls: Responding Quickly, With Confidence
BRCGS certification also requires robust batch traceability. In the event of an incident, this structure allows affected products to be identified quickly and managed through clear, well-defined procedures.
The challenge is twofold: responding efficiently from an operational standpoint while minimizing potential reputational impact. When time is critical, preparation and structure make all the difference.
A Tangible Advantage for Brands
Working with a certified BRCGS Global Standard Packaging Materials partner helps brands reduce risk, streamline audits, and more easily meet the requirements of retailers and regulatory authorities. It also means partnering with a team that applies these standards every day, not just during inspections.
In Summary
BRCGS Global Standard Packaging Materials certification aligns naturally with L’Empreinte’s culture of precision, consistency, and rigour. It reinforces our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality packaging solutions that support and protect the brands we serve.
